This place looks out over a pine-cloaked fell, so wintery views are a permanent fixture. It’s in a handy location, too, with slopes nearby, and ski tracks leading from the doorstep to Äkäslompolo village, 5 minutes away.

The hotel mixes modern and traditional décor. Outside, glass and wood dominate, while inside, everything centres round a flagstoned lobby bar. Rooms are simple, and they all come with their own sauna.

This hotel comes with a SnowClub, where children can get involved with entertainment and activities. You can join the SnowClub entertainment team and our mascot Captain T for indoor and outdoor activities. Like snowdog-building and tobogganing, snowgolf and marshmallow toasting. There's lots of entertainment, too, like pantomimes and festive-themed parties.

Duplex family room covers two floors, and features two twin bedrooms, plus 1 child's bed in the lounge. And there's a separate bathroom with shower. Twin rooms are available too, and they accommodate up to 3 people – and include 1 child's bed in the bedroom.

The buffet restaurant is set behind floor-to-ceiling windows that open up panoramic views of the fells. The menu features Finnish dishes, as well as home-from-home favourites like chips and burgers.

    The snow outside instantly gives you the Christmas feel, but wait until you see the buffet restaurant. There's tinsel wrapped around the ceiling, red and green festive chairs and Christmas trees sprinkled around the room. There are options for little ones too.

    Open-plan to reception, with leather armchairs and dining tables. The bar doesn't just provide drinks but snacks too.
  • Children's dining*
    In the buffet restaurant.

In the lobby bar*, you can set your drink down on chunks of log that act as tables. Alternatively, make your way to the bars in nearby Äkäslompolo village.

  • SnowClub
    This is one of our SnowClub properties, which means Captain T will be on hand for plenty of festive fun. He’ll entertain little guests with activities like snowdog-building, Christmas-themed storytelling and arts and crafts. Plus, he’ll be hosting special festive parties and sing-alongs. Family-friendly quizzes and games are part of the line-up, too.

Cross-country skiing and snowmobile tracks start pretty much from the front door of the hotel. Yllas ski resort is nearby, too. Of the huge selection of slopes here, the longest runs for three kilometres downhill.Indoors, there’s a games room for older children, and a play area for little ones.

This Lapland resort in northern Finland is split into two villages on either side of a mountain. There’s just a smattering of shops and restaurants here – and that’s exactly the appeal. As for the setting, you’re surrounded by the vast Pallas-Yllas National Park, a fairytale landscape of frozen lakes and snow-covered forests.
